Highlights

Black sand beach, Vik

This is truly a surreal experience; the dark black sand contrasting with the white of crashing waves and winter snow makes for a wildly unique visual experience. It almost feels like you are on another planet..

 Geysir

Iceland's Great Geysir & Geothermal Area | Arctic Adventures

The Stroker Geysir errupts every 4 -10 mins spewing hot water up to 15 -20 meters in the air. This is a must see phenomena when visiting Iceland.

Skogafoss waterfall

Of the 3 waterfalls we visited while in Iceland, this one stood out the most to me. There are two observation areas, one at the base of the falls and, more impressively, one at the top. There are steps to the top, taking around 20 mins to reach the upper viewpoint.

Sky Lagoon

Main lagoon

Sky lagoon Sauna

Offering a 7 step rituals process, the Sky Lagoon is a relaxing way to finish off your time in Iceland. The first stage is the Geo-thermally heated lagoon featuring an infinity edge overlooking the Atlantic and a swim up bar serving beer, champagne and various other beverages. Following on from this, you dip into a cold plunge before entering a Sauna with an amazing sea view.  Next is a cold mist followed by a body scrub in Herbal salts. You then finish off the 7 steps with a Steam room visit and an Icelandic tea.

My advice with the Sky lagoon is to book well in advance as it sells out fast and try get an early slot as this is when the lagoon is least crowded.
