Foody finds in Dublin (Part I)

Alma

Located in Portabello, Dublin 8 this quaint cafe is my top pick for brunch in Dublin. The menu here consists of sandwiches and pancakes among other brunch favourites. Having tried many of the delicious options available on the menu, my firm favourite has to be the Dulche de Leche pancakes pictured below. They are a must try if you decide to visit this cafe.

Bretzel Bakery

Inside the bakery

This bakery has been around for over 150 years and still continues to deliver some of the finest breads in the city. Also located in Portabello, this bakery has freshly baked pastries and breads of all shapes and sizes. They also serve freshly ground coffee and have a range of sandwiches to choose from.

Kodiak

Although this is a bar, the pizza served here solidifies its places on this list of foody places in Dublin. Kodiak is a newly opened vibrant bar in Rathmines serving cocktails and a wide range of beers/spirits. It also boasts a spacious outdoor beer garden which is great for the summer months. The pancetta and potato pizza here is a must try when you visit Kodiak, I also recommend asking for a pineapple margarita to accompany this delicious pizza.

Farmer Browns

This restaurant is based in Rathmines and has both a brunch and dinner menu. Working together with local suppliers, Farmer browns is a reliable spot for fresh, wholesome, no nonsense food. They have an excellent range of sandwiches available along with a boozy brunch weekend menu. If you visit during the week, the pulled chicken with franks hot sauce and aioli sandwich is a must try.
